Terms of Service

Welcome to Muse, an AI companion application built by HELIUM 4. By downloading, installing, or using Muse ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. About the Service

Muse is a free, offline AI assistant that runs large language models locally on your Android device. The App does not require an internet connection to function (except for downloading AI models and receiving app updates).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Muse. If you are under 18, you should use the App with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

3. Your Data & Privacy

Muse is designed with privacy as a core principle:

• All AI conversations are processed on-device and are never transmitted to any server.
• Chat history is stored locally on your device and encrypted.
• No account, email, or personal information is required to use the App.
• You can export or delete your data at any time from within the App.
• If you uninstall the App, all local data is permanently deleted.

4. AI-Generated Content

Muse uses open-source language models to generate responses. Please be aware that:

• AI-generated content may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate.
• Muse is not a substitute for professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise).
• You are responsible for how you use the information provided by the AI.
• The quality of responses depends on the model you choose and your device's capabilities.

5. Acceptable Use

While Muse runs locally and we cannot monitor usage, you agree not to use the App to:

• Generate content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the App beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
• Redistribute or resell the App or any AI models bundled with it.

6. AI Models

Muse supports multiple open-source AI models (such as Gemma, Phi, Mistral, and Llama). These models are created by third parties and are subject to their own licenses. HELIUM 4 does not claim ownership of these models. By downloading a model through the App, you agree to comply with that model's license terms.

7. No Warranty

Muse is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. HELIUM 4 does not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that AI responses will be accurate. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

8. Limitation of Liability

HELIUM 4 shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or device damage resulting from AI model processing.

9. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services for non-conversational functions:

• Google Play Services (app distribution)
• Firebase Analytics (anonymous usage statistics)
• Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting)
• Firebase Remote Config (model list updates)

These services have their own privacy policies and terms, which you can review on their respective websites.

10. Updates and Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance. We will indicate the effective date at the top of this page.

11. Termination

You may stop using Muse at any time by uninstalling the App. Since all data is stored locally, uninstalling removes everything. We do not maintain any account or server-side data to delete.
